- On May 16th, 2016 at about 10:00 A.M., Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force (SINTF) agents, along with deputies from the Shasta County Marijuana Investigation Team (SMIT), and from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Burney division, served a Shasta County Superior Court Search Warrant at a property near the intersection of Oak Run Road and Buzzard Roost Road in eastern Shasta County.
During the search of the location, agents located about 13 pounds of concentrated cannabis. Agents located items that showed the concentrated cannabis was being manufactured using a chemical process with butane. Five, full 3 gallon containers of isobutane were located, along with about 25 empty containers of isobutane. Also located were about 350 pounds of marijuana “shake”, 3 vacuum purge ovens (which are used in the processing of the concentrated cannabis), and a closed loop style system for manufacturing concentrated cannabis using butane. Agents also found a handgun that was reported stolen from a 2014 burglary in the City of Redding.
During the service of the search warrant, no one was at the residence and agents will be doing a follow-up investigation to try to locate who was responsible for the manufacturing of the concentrated cannabis. Anyone with information is asked to call the SINTF office at (530)722-9161.
