A consortium of Foothill High School clubs combined their fundraising efforts in order to send a $1260 contribution to the Haiti Earthquake Relief effort. A variety of school clubs did everything from bake sales to three-point basketball competitions in order to raise the money. The funds will be donated to the Red Cross Haiti Relief fund.

The clubs at FHS that were involved are: The Multi-Media Club which made video advertisements for the fundraisers; the Varsity Girls Basketball Team which sponsored a “three-point shots for Haiti” pledge drive during homecoming; the Math Club which donated profits from its calculus shirt sales; Student Government which made collection buckets and signs; Interact Club which held a bake sale; the Hiking Club which held a  Pop-tart sale.  The following clubs supplied volunteers to collect donations from students: the History Club, the French Club, the Science Club, the Choir Club and the FFA.

Staff members as well as students have donated funds to the effort. They even received a $100 donation from one staff member.

“It makes one feel proud to be an FHS Cougar!” Student Activities Director Mike Jenkins wrote in his email to us.  Bravo, Foothill!  Way to go!
